Begun in 1163 and reborn in December 2024 after five years of restoration, Notre-Dame watches over the island where Paris was born. Your guide reads its façade with you, before crossing the Seine into the Latin Quarter, whose narrow streets are older than the cathedral itself.
This is an outdoor walk. Entry to the cathedral is free but has its own queue, and your guide will gladly suggest the ideal time to return and discover the interior.
The walk, step by step
- The Charlemagne statue. The meeting point is in front of the bronze statue of Charlemagne, on the parvis. Your guide holds a beige, blue and red flag. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time.
- The parvis and the point zéro. Set into the paving lies a small bronze star, the point zéro from which every road distance in France is measured.
- The façade. The kings of Judah, the gargoyles and chimeras, the rose window, and the story of the cathedral between the fire of April 2019 and its reopening in December 2024.
- The Seine and the bouquinistes. Across the bridge, the booksellers' green boxes line the parapets, a trade that goes back to the 16th century.
- The Latin Quarter. Named after the Latin once spoken by its students: rue de la Bûcherie, Shakespeare and Company, Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre and the oldest tree in Paris, planted in 1601.

Not included. Entry to the cathedral (free, with its own queue), food and drinks.
Good to know
- An outdoor walk on flat ground, with some cobblestones. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
- The interior of the cathedral is not part of the tour.
- Groups of up to 20 people.
- The walk takes place rain or shine.

Do we go inside Notre-Dame?
The walk is dedicated to the outside of the cathedral and its surroundings. Entry is free but has its own queue, and your guide will suggest the ideal time to come back for the interior.
What do children pay?
€29 from 4 to 12 years old, and free up to 3. The route is flat and lasts one hour.
What if it rains?
The walk takes place in all weather. We simply recommend an umbrella.
What if we are running late?
Please send us a WhatsApp message. The group waits a few minutes at the Charlemagne statue before setting off.
Can I combine it with the Eiffel Tower?
Of course. Many travelers enjoy a walk in the morning and the Tower in the afternoon. Allow about 30 minutes by métro between the two.

Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time, with a full refund to the card used for payment. Within 24 hours, the booking can no longer be refunded.
