The Louvre is the largest museum in the world, and most visitors only ever see its inside. This walk is the outside: the axis that runs dead straight from the Concorde, through the Tuileries, under the Arc du Carrousel and into the courtyard of the pyramid.

The walk, step by step
- Place de la Concorde. We meet at the foot of the obelisk. It is 23 meters tall, 3,300 years old, and stood in front of the temple of Luxor until 1836. The gilded diagrams on the pedestal show how it was hauled upright.
- The Tuileries. Catherine de' Medici laid out the garden in 1564 for a palace that burned in 1871. The green chairs are free; the trick is finding two by the round pond.
- The Arc du Carrousel. Napoleon's small pink-marble arch, finished in 1808, lines up exactly with the obelisk, the Champs-Élysées and the Grande Arche at La Défense: eight kilometers in a straight line.
- The Cour Napoléon and the pyramid. I. M. Pei's glass pyramid opened in 1989. Ask your guide about the 666-pane legend. The real count is 673.

- Outdoor walk through a garden, flat, gravel paths. Strollers and wheelchairs manage.
- The museum is not included. You can buy a ticket and visit at your own pace afterwards.

- Runs rain or shine. The Tuileries in drizzle are half empty.

Do we enter the museum?
No. This is the outdoor walk: Concorde, the Tuileries, the Arc du Carrousel and the pyramid. If you want the galleries afterwards, we can book your museum tickets in advance.
Do children pay?
€25 from age 4 to 12, free up to 3. The route is flat, through a garden, and strollers are welcome.
Where exactly is the meeting point?
At the base of the obelisk on Place de la Concorde, métro Concorde (lines 1, 8, 12). Please arrive 15 minutes before the start.
What if we are late?
Send us a WhatsApp message. The group waits a few minutes at the obelisk, then starts.
Can I cancel?
Free of charge up to 24 hours before the start, refunded automatically to your card. Within 24 hours the booking is due.
